Washington and Oregon Cascades
July 16 - 22,
2011
The Cascade Range in Central
Oregon contains many outstanding locations. The Columbia River Gorge is world
famous for its spectacular waterfalls. Mt. Hood has been called “the perfect
mountain” because of its beautiful and symmetrical shape. Sparks Lake and the
Sisters volcanic peaks near the town of Bend also provide exceptional photographic
opportunities.
The John Day Fossil Beds east of the
Cascades contain beautifully colored bentonite hills. Iron and manganese oxides give
the rocks their beautiful color. Erosion by water, freezing and thawing, and wind have
shaped the colorful patterned hills we see today.
We will also visit many other locations
in the Oregon Cascades including Silver Falls State Park near Salem where many
beautiful waterfalls provide photographic opportunities.
This Workshop includes all lodging,
transportation from Portland, and expert photographic instruction in the field and
in the classroom. A continental breakfast will be provided each morning.
Participants pay for all other meals.
This week in the Oregon Cascades
will provide you with many varied and spectacular images.
