WORKSHOP LEADERS
The success of your nature photography workshop is
largely dependant upon the expertise and teaching abilities of
the workshop leaders. Dramatic Light believes that only extensive
on location experience can provide the knowledge and background
needed to optimize the photographic opportunities on each
workshop.
Many companies pad the resumes of their leaders.
Dramatic Light does not. Our instructors have earned their
credentials through many long years of International Competition,
fifteen years of leading Workshops, and successful marketing of
their photography.

Joseph K. Lange, APSA
Joe holds a Geological Engineering degree from the
Colorado School of Mines. He has been active in the Photographic
Society of America (PSA) for 30 years in Colorado and Texas. In
1983, the Society awarded him an Associateship (APSA) for his
superior record as a photographer, judge, programmer and
lecturer.
His competition record in the Nature Division of PSA has
been exceptional. Six times he has won PSA's highest competitive
award, the "Kinsley Trophy", presented annually by the Eastman
Kodak Company, to the most "skilled and versatile nature
photographer in the world". In 1984, 1986, and 1988, he was
ranked the top Nature Print maker in the world in International
Competitions sanctioned by the Photographic Society of America.
He has over 1,000 acceptances in International Nature
Competitions held in Australia, New Zealand, China, India, South
Africa, and Europe as well as North America.
Joe's works have been exhibited in a one-man show at the
Colorado Photographic Arts Center in Denver. His line of
photographic greeting cards is sold throughout the Rocky Mountain
West. He has had a number of articles published in Nature
Photographer magazine.
Joe has been Chairman of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of
PSA and President of the Colorado Council of Camera Clubs. He has
served as President of the Mile High Wildlife, Colorado Nature,
Englewood, North Denver, and Rocky Mountain Stereo Camera
Clubs.
Joe has an intimate knowledge of most of the National
Parks and Monuments in the western United States and is
especially well known for his dramatic landscapes. His
photographic journeys have also taken him to Africa thirteen
times, to the Arctic nine times, to Alaska and Argentina three
times each, to Chile twice, to the Falkland Islands three times,
and to Antarctica.
Teaching photographic techniques is especially enjoyable
for Joe. He has presented lectures from coast to coast,
highlighted by programs at the International Convention of the
Photographic Society of America and four visits to the Annual
Convention of the New England Council of Camera Clubs
(NECCC).
Joe is the author of three successful books. The first,
entitled "How to Photograph Landscapes" is now
in its second printing and was published by Stackpole Books as
part of their "How to" series. Joe's other two books for
Stackpole, "Photographer's Guide to Yellowstone and the
Tetons" and "Photographer's Guide to the Grand
Canyon and Northern Arizona" are also available either
from Joe or at your favorite bookstore.
Joe and Bonnie are currently Associate Editors of
Nature Photographer magazine where they have articles
published regularly.
Bonnie L. Lange
Bonnie is also an experienced photographer and has been
awarded five stars in the Photographic Society of America's
Nature Division. Her photographs are marketed internationally by
Index Stock Imagery in New York and have been published in
Colorado Outdoors. She has co-authored several articles in
Nature Photographer Magazine. Her greeting cards are
marketed thru Dramatic Light.
When Dramatic Light has more than five participants on a
workshop, she will assist Joe in the field. When Joe is on Tour,
she will handle your requests for information and answer your
questions about future workshops.
